Sydney, Australia: what to do & where to go.

HOTEL: Sofitel Sydney Wentworth
The hotel is located right in the centre of the business district of Sydney or just a short walk to the shopping areas, or to Circular Quay – an easy walk to the Opera House.
The breakfast buffet costs $25 (AUD) and it’s divine!

SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE CLIMB
Fantastic views from the top of the bridge! Everything about this was really awesome. It is expensive (around $220 USD) but if you can afford it you must do it if you’re lucky enough to be in Sydney.

THE ROCKS
It’s a historic part of Sydney located close to the Opera House and Circular Quay.

The Rocks Cafe
When you are downtown in the tourist zone, you should stop by The Rocks Cafe. In the summer, you can eat outside and play with Rainbow Lorikeets! You can also eat a kangaroo burger which tastes like a cross between venison and buffalo meat.

WATSON’S BAY COASTAL CLIFF WALK
It’s undoubtedly one of the best coastal walks in Sydney and it will take your breath away.

BONDI BEACH
It’s an iconic stretch of fine sand and curling waves and one of the world’s most famous beach destinations.

TARONGA ZOO
Take the ferry for a great tour of the harbor on the way to the zoo (Zoo + ferry cost around $60 AUD). I must admit that the native Australian animal were simply gorgeous!

THE ROYAL BOTANIC GARDEN
It’s a tranquil oasis on the edge of one of the world’s great natural harbours. You’ll enjoy spectacular views and take memorable photographs of Sydney Harbour, the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It’s a short walk from the Sofitel Wentworth hotel, Circular Quay and Hyde Park.

CHINESE GARDEN OF FRIENDSHIP
Regarding the fact of the garden’s location, once you enter the noise of the passing traffic fades to insignificance. The gardens are well laid out with walks around pools, fountains and waterfalls. There are plenty of places to sit and relax. Entrance fee $6 (AUD)

It’s not the best place to go to but there’s an amazing amount of fresh fish there, prepared in a variety of ways.
